On December 9th, co-organized by National Housing Industrialization Promotion Center of Ministry of Housing and Urban-rural and China Construction Metal Structure Association, “the Conference of Promoting the Development of Steel Structure Building and the Steel Structure Housing System Application Technology Interecommunions” was held in Urumchi, Sinkiang, China. 

 

    Aiming at practicing the advice of executive meeting of the State Council - “Combining shanty-area renovation and earthquake-resistant housing projects, carrying out the pilot steel structure building”, this conference laid emphasis on raising the level of steel structure residential design and construction, enhancing the application of steel structure building technology system and accelerating construction industry’s modernization of Sinkiang as well as western China. Domestic well-known experts, scholars and enterprise representatives of China Construction Science Research Institute, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture and so on have made a featured speech at the conference, contributing their efforts in the future development direction of China’s steel construction.

 

    On the conference, a series of hot issues such as “the current situation and the development trend of steel structure industry modernization”, “the application and development of Prefabricated steel structure residential system” and “the opinions and suggestions on promoting steel structure architecture”, etc, have aroused a heated discussion and reflection among the guests.
