The new building houses these county departments: Permitting Service Center, Building Inspections, Fire Safety Division, Zoning and Land Use, Development Review, Neighborhood and Environmental Services, Engineering, Traffic, Long Range Comprehensive Planning, Geographic Information Systems, Code Enforcement, and Animal Control.

n Public conference meeting rooms.

n Generator equipped to take over in case of power failure.

n Designed to withstand 140 mph hurricane-force winds.

n Outside walls covered with panels made of galvanized, coated aluminum that will not rust and require no painting nor maintenance for the life of the building.

For the public

Escambia County's official building dedication and ribbon cutting is 2 p.m. Nov. 15 at the new Central Office Complex, 3363 W. Park Place. The public is invited to attend and tour the building.
